About Colin
Colin Judge is constantly defying the odds. Despite being born with no legs and one arm, Colin is a Paralympic table tennis player, motivational speaker and actuarial analyst.
Throughout his teenage years, he struggled to cope with his disability, he had lost confidence in himself and hit rock bottom mentally. He knew that he needed to improve his situation and channel his energies into something different. When he discovered table tennis everything changed. He started to accept himself for who he was and began to excel in all areas of his life. He made his international debut four years later while studying for his Leaving Cert. He studied Actuarial and Financial Studies at UCD, graduating with a 2:1.
He worked as an actuary for two years at KPMG and then went on sabbatical in 2019 in order to chase his Paralympic dream. Colin is the current European Champion, 6 time Irish National Champion and has won numerous international titles around the world. After qualifying and competing at Tokyo 2020, Colin reached the last 16 in Paris 2024, losing out to the eventual gold medallist. With eyes on LA 2028, Colin now shares his story with people worldwide and uses his challenges to inspire others to push their limits and become the best version of themselves.
I’m very proud to announce that I’ve been selected as flag bearer for Team Ireland alongside orla_comerford It’s a huge honour for me to carry the flag of the country that I love so much and to represent my teammates on the biggest stage. As a table tennis player, which is a minority sport in Ireland, it’s a testament to how far our program has come on in the past few years. I’m so grateful to all the people around me and to paralympics_ireland for giving me the opportunity. See you on the 28th! paris2024 🇫🇷 #paralympics #paris2024 #flagbearer
Thank you from the bottom of my heart to everyone who believed in me and supported me on my way to Tokyo 2020. I’m devastated to have lost out in the last 14 on Friday but I’m proud of how I prepared and how I performed. I did everything I could and have no regrets but I’m sorry to those who had higher hopes for me. These last few weeks have reminded me how much I love to compete and how grateful I am to call myself a Paralympian. I will carry the responsibility that comes with that and work harder than ever to show what I’m capable of in Paris 2024. The journey is still long! Sayonara Tokyo 🇯🇵
Been a hugely challenging few years but I’m very happy and proud to say that I’ve qualified for the Tokyo 2021 Paralympics this morning! It’s hard to put into words how much today means to me. A dream come true and I can’t wait for my opportunity. 34 days until the games begin and you can be sure that I’ll be ready! Thanks to my family, friends and everyone who supported me, my qualification would never have been possible without you. Ní neart go cur le chéile! #TeamJudge 🏓🇮🇪🇯🇵
